CNC Machining

If you are new to modern manufacturing, today’s capabilities are a far cry from the manual machines that our grandfathers operated during WWII. Today, mechanical part design and manufacturing are highly automated. This decreases manufacturing time, increases employee efficiency, and drastically improves the quality of each part.
 
At Mowdy Machine, we have highly-skilled engineers and operators that take the design specifications provided by the customer then using CNC (Computer numerical control) Machines. Using CNC Machines allows us to exceed all quality standards from ISO 20015 to AS 9100. From basic turning (like a lathe would do) to complex 5-axis machining, our operators and our equipment manufactures the highest quality replacement parts.

Sheet Metal

While our CNC Machining capabilities are high-tech; at Mowdy, we still have the know-how and skilled employees to do good old-fashioned sheet metal work when the need arises. In these situations, we combine both modern and traditional manufacturing methods to produce the exact product our country’s military needs. 
 
In these instances, we utilize a hydraulic press or a press break in conjunction with accurate digital modelling to maximize precision. Implementing this approach allows our engineers to pre-assemble and mate components in a 3D environment, transfer all required fastener holes, then extract all the components with the additional fastener holes in the proper locations. Further, marrying the old with the new means we can handle sheet metal parts fabrication from a basic sheet metal bracket to multi-component assemblies.

Assemblies

Just like a jig-saw puzzle, assemblies require attention to detail, skill, and craftsmanship. Mowdy is exemplary in all three of these traits. With our team, we can weld, rivet, bond, or shrink-fit whatever pieces are required to achieve final part assembly.

Quality Controls

We employ 19 Quality Controls (QC) with every single contract and every single part we manufacture. These QCs range from Packaging & Preservation to Information Confidentiality to Supplier Control
 
We developed these controls with a nationally-recognized QC Company and integrated important aspects of multiple standards. The primary source to establish our QC Standards are derived from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) AS9100 as it is widely adopted and considered the standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. By voluntarily integrating these standards, we exceed those set forth in International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2015 as AS9100 fully incorporates the entirety of the current version of ISO 9000, while adding requirements relating to quality and safety. 
 
In addition to these standards, Mowdy:
 

  • Annually meets our ISO recertification requirements 
     

  • Insures all calibration are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (N.I.S.T.)
     

  • Implement incremental Continuing Education (EC) for our entire team.
     

Our Quality Controls don’t stop there:
 

  • Each part we manufacture is provided our own Certificate of Conformity.
     

  • As we manufacture parts for the U.S. Government, we strictly obey International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) rules. ITAR is a United States regulatory regime to restrict and control the export of defense and military-related technologies to safeguard U.S. national security and further U.S. foreign policy objectives. 
     

  • We abide by DPAS (Defense Priorities & Allocations System for the Contractor). This system ensures the timely availability of industrial resources to meet national defense and emergency preparedness requirements. These rules, a standard part of U.S. defense contracting process, follows the federal requirements as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
